One of the original schools in Greenville County built in the 1930’s by the WPA (Works Project Administration).
The design intent was to return the school to as near the original design as possible while adding the new Ed. Spec. items into the building and incorporating energy saving elements.
The interior was developed to reflect the age range of the children that would be using the facility.
The existing building was “gutted” down to the original framing, with new utilities, framing upgrades, windows, life safety items, new kitchen and dining room and a new covered drop off area in front of the school.
The building houses one of Greenville County’s Child Development Centers with 8 classrooms, adult education rooms and child care rooms.
